Wired e-fences use an underground boundary wire for a customizable layout, while wireless e-fences create boundaries using a central transmitter. 

Most e-fence systems support multiple dogs. The DOGTRA GPS FENCE supports up to 3 dogs, the DOGTRA SMART FENCE supports up to 2 dogs, and the EF3500 can accommodate unlimited dogs. You can simply add an extra receiver collar to the system, allowing each dog to be safely contained within the same boundary.

It takes roughly 2-3 weeks to train your dog on e-fences and to teach boundaries to them. Daily sessions with your dog can help them learn the boundaries and respond reliably to warning tones and corrections.

There is no real-time tracking. However, after use, you can check the movement route and distance on the map in the app's history.

There are four modes of correction settings, which include: Continuous stimulation, Pager vibration, Tone, and No correction.

GPS is usually accurate within 3-15 feet. Set up your fence in a wide, open area with a clear view of the sky for best results.

The warning zone is a 5–15-yard area inside the primary fence that gives pre-alerts. The backup fence is an additional virtual fence outside the primary, set within 10–50m or 20–300m ranges.

In the app, select 'Add Virtual Fence' and draw either a custom (up to 25 posts) or circular (diameter of 12m to 4km) fence. After saving, update the collar with the new fence info.

No, our app does not have a subscription and all features will be available.

The Control Station beeps when your dog reaches the boundary. If your dog crosses the boundary, the beep will keep going until you mute it using the orange button on the station or the app. No correction happens once your dog is back inside the safe zone.

No, corrections are applied only at the boundary or when crossing it. Once your dog goes outside or returns to the safe zone, SMART FENCE will not continue corrections, ensuring the dog’s safety and wellbeing.

SMART FENCE works without the app. The app is optional and lets you adjust settings, see notifications, and give manual corrections via Bluetooth to the Control Station. It connects only to the station, and cannot move the boundary.

No, the SMART FENCE app will not alert you when you leave your house. You must be in Bluetooth range (33 feet) to receive notifications. However, the system will still be working and the Control Station will sound off, even when you are not home.

The SMART FENCE has 24 levels to give you precise control while keeping your dog safe. These levels are designed to provide humane correction that helps your dog learn the boundary without unnecessary discomfort.

No, the boundary shape is not customizable. It is only circular shape with range in preset sizes.
