So far I have limited

"So far I have limited use of the new unit. I like the features this new compass unit has built into it. I bought it to experiment with the E-Fence feature. The unit appears well built and appears to function very well so far. It is easy to set up and use and seems to be user friendly with some use."

3 Dogs have these on b/c I think its the best!

"I always take a moment to review such a important piece of equipment that takes care of our Dogs. I own Mt. Cur Dogs and a Bulldog/Greyhound mix for a open land Homesteading, micro farm animal/property protection, invasive animal eradication, companionship. As far as I know Dogtra is the only fence, training and gps hunting collar around. The Good~ customer support is outstanding. Own the Pathfinder 2/ and PF2 Mini; and the units are rugged with no physical failures. The new Compass looks to be a good unit, still learning about it. The Bad~ nothings completely wrong on any of the products. The collars have all needed some work every 6 months or so mainly battery replacement, and particularly the collars motherboard/chips sometimes malfunction, not connecting the fence feature, and more disconcerting when turning on the fence feature, shocking my dog. This is a RARE occurrence! But necessitating being sent back to said outstanding service dept. to get a new internal chip which again, Dogtra's service department is TOPnotch and has always taken care of ANY problem. Continue innovating and making such a good product ya'all!"

The Compass handheld is a

"The Compass handheld is a major upgrade over the pathfinder 2 control. Definitely worth it"

I’ll start by saying I

"I’ll start by saying I am not using these collars for their intended use. I have several acres of rolling hills that are heavily wooded. I’ve been using a wired invisible fence and every time a tree falls in the woods it always managed to find the wire leaving me wandering in the woods for hours looking for the new break in the line. Every review of other pet gps systems always have the caveat that their product won’t work for my topography and cover until I stumbled upon the Pathfinder 2. It checked all the boxes and I am happy with the product. Set up is straight forward. Some of the app menu arrangements are a little clumsy and could easily confuse someone who is not tech savvy. And I know I am not using it for its intended use and it is the reason I went with the Pathfinder 2 but it seems to me that this is going to be more than just my dogs. They love to chew on each others antennas. I’ve tried to secure them down but they always seem to find a way to pull it out. Maybe utilize a dual antenna that are shorter. At the end of the day would I recommend this system. Absolutely and I would buy it again."

"No complaints with collar."

Pathfinder products 4/5, support services 3/5

"Collars work will though I did have a battery fail in 1 collar initially, exchange service was reasonably timely but not fast. Also have had an issue with the thread sizing for the antenna on the handheld unit. Lost one antenna, ordered the proper replacement and it had the same loose fit as the original. Service responded I only once regarding the antenna and wanted it sent in. Ahem,Dogtra are you listening? When you don't do advanced exchanges we can't use the products while waiting and that's a problem because I use the electric fence features almost exclusively. I ended up using a small amount of epoxy to keep the antenna in place, which has worked fine. Also, why can't we save more than one set of drop points for fences. We have to do the e-fence setup over again for any location changes, then redo once back to home base. That's a royal PITA for someone with multiple properties. One additional issue I have seen is the Pathfinder app wanting to drop a truck marker at the closest phone tower about a mile from one of my properties rather than my actual location."

Collars seem good! I called

"Collars seem good! I called and tried getting help ordering them and the guy was useless! So I wanted different colors and ended up with two that only track not train!! That’s sucks cuz that’s what I ordered and didn’t understand it!! I was going to order 10 and no discount either!! That sucks!! App seems good but kills my battery!!"

Great product for home use

"I love this product. I have been using the Pathfinder collar on my dog at home for a year. We have a large property and I'm able to mark the perimeter even where it's not a straight line. The dog frequently comes inside the house and back out, and he does not get corrected or zapped unless he goes into the safety perimeter at the edge of the property. I would be very surprised if the previous review is accurate unless there is somehow something in that house that's on the same frequency but I think that is very unlikely."

Inaccurate

"There are Times when my dogs are asleep in the living room with their collars on, e fence off and control in sleep mode. They still get zapped. I would also like to be able to turn all the lights off till I want to locate them."
