"I did a lot of research on e-collars before purchasing this one — in fact, I ordered several and sent them back! — and I'm very pleased with the 280X Pro for my 8-month-old GSP. She is high energy but mild, sensitive, obedient, and has solid recall, so I was looking for a product that would allow me to fine-tune the stimulation or "nick" to a level that just gets her attention, nothing more. I'm happy to say, this transmitter and receiver does exactly that. We're both happy with level 5 out of 100. I'm sure a "boost" will be needed in an emergency situation, but otherwise, that simple low-level nick is perfect for her. I also appreciate the light feature for camping, dusk, and nighttime use, and I purchased an orange collar strap for better visibility, especially during hunting season. I've lightly tested the tone feature — she had a slightly aversive response, possibly from negative experience with our smoke alarms, whoops! — and I haven't tried the vibration yet. While I'm sure I'll introduce them over time, so far the fine-tuned nick is functioning exactly how I'd hoped. Lastly, I like the slimmer profile of the Pro transceiver."
